Product On Point’s Deliverables

Connected Beyond Election Night

Rather than treating the Elections Portal as a standalone microsite, Product-on-Point designed the experience as a seamless extension of the broader Freespoke ecosystem.

The goal wasn’t just to capture traffic during high-interest election moments. It was to create pathways that encourage useres to continue exploring Freespoke’s core products, including Search, News, and AI-powered perspective tools.

To support this, the team:

  • Integrated consistent Freespoke branding, navigation, and UI patterns throughout the portal

  • Created strategic pathways back into Feespoke Search and News experiences

  • Designed engagement loops that encouraged continued platform usage beyond election cycles

  • Simplified complex election data into a clean and intuitive experience accessible to everyday users

From Concept to Launch in 90 Days

From initial strategy and UX exploration to live product launch, the Elections Portal was designed, built, and deployed in just 90 days… balancing speed, scalability, and clarity under real-world election deadlines.

Designing for Real-Time Decision Moments

Election night presents a unique product challenge… Speed vs. Accuracy. Users expect updates immediately. But accuracy, balance, and cross-source validation are critical to Freespoke’s credibility.

To solve this, the team designed a system that integrated live data inputs from Decision Desk HQ for real-time race calls. Resulting in a system that delivers speed without sacrificing trust.

National to Local Navigation System

We introduced a flexible map + toolbar system that allows users to easily switch between:

  • National Senate map

  • National House map

  • (Future-ready) Presidential and gubernatorial views

Modular Race Grouping System

One of the most important UX innovations was creating modular, scalable race groupings.

Instead of forcing users to navigate individual races one by one, we designed:

  • State-level aggregation widgets

    • All congressional races in a state

    • All state house races in a state

    • All state senate races in a state

Component-Based Design in Figma

All experiences were designed in Figma as a modular system of reusable components, including:

  • Race widgets

  • Map states and overlays

  • Data states (called, pending, updating)

  • Navigation controls

This allowed the Freespoke team to:

  • Scale quickly

  • Iterate in real time

  • Maintain consistency across the portal

Product Growth & Retention Strategy

  • MVP in 4 Weeks: Personalization + Retention

To increase repeat usage and long-term engagement, the team rapidly ideated and launched an MVP focused on personalization and “long topic” following.

Built and launched in just four weeks, the feature allowed users to:

    • Follow ongoing topics and evolving news stories

    • Receive personalized notifications and updates

    • Build a more customized Freespoke experience

    • Re-engage with the platform daily

  • KPI Strategy + Subscription Growth

Beyond product design, Product-on-Point worked with Freespoke to define measurable success metrics that connected product decisions directly to business goals.

    Key focus areas included:

    • Increasing daily active usage

    • Improving user retention

    • Driving subscription conversions

    • Encouraging deeper session engagement

The team helped establish KPI frameworks that informed:

    • Product roadmap priorities

    • Paywall placement strategy

    • Feature-gating decisions

    • Engagement loop optimization

  • Daily Decision Advantage

To strengthen subscription value and differentiate the platform, the team helped evolve Freespoke’s “Daily Decision Advantage” positioning into a repeatable engagement strategy.

The concept centered around helping users make more informed daily decisions by:

    • Seeing multiple perspectives instantly

    • Understanding source bias clearly

    • Accessing AI-powered summaries

    • Exploring related podcasts and conversations

    • Following stories over time instead of reacting to headlines

From a customer journey perspective, DDA increased consideration factors throughout the funnel by reinforcing Freespoke as a daily-use utility rather than a one-time search tool.

This positioning became a foundational framework for:

    • Paid campaigns

    • Subscription messaging

    • Product onboarding

    • Upgrade prompts

Video-First Product Storytelling

To help explain complex product features quickly and increase adoption, Product-on-Point developed a video-first content strategy for Freespoke focused on short-form product education, feature explainers, and conversion-driven messaging across paid and organic channels.

The team created:

  • Product demo scripts

  • Social-first video concepts

  • AI feature walkthroughs

Conclusion

In just 90 days, Product-on-Point helped Freespoke rapidly evolve from product vision to scalable execution across UX, product strategy, growth initiatives, and conversion-focused experiences.

The partnership resulted in the successful launch of Freespoke’s Elections Portal… a real-time, modular experience designed to simplify complex election data into a fast, intuitive, and trustworthy user journey. By integrating live race data, scalable component systems, and clear navigation structures, the platform transformed an overwhelming news moment into an accessible product experience for everyday users.

Beyond the election cycle, the team focused on long-term engement and retention by developing personalization features that encouraged users to follow evolving topics, receive tailored notifications, and return to the platform daily. These efforts helped shift Freespoke from a utility-based search experience toward a more habit-forming information platform.

Product-on-Point also worked closely with Freespoke to align product decisions with measurable business outcomes. KPI frameworks, subscription pathways, upgrade messaging, and paywall strategies were introduced to support increased user retention, deeper engagement, and subscription conversion growth.

Through product storytelling, paid campaigns and demo videos, and feature launch strategies, the collaboration helped clarify Freespoke’s market position as a privacy-first, multi-perspective platform built for users seeking transparency and independent thinking in today’s information landscape.

The result was not only a faster product launch cycle, but a stronger foundation for long-term platform growth, combining product design, user engagement, and business strategy into a unified ecosystem built to scale.
